LAMBA ALPHA INTERNATIONAL London Chapter Lambda Alpha XXXIII Biennial Congress - 30 September to 2 October 1999 The Millennium Britannia, Mayfair London
Old World, New World, Future World Ever since man first ceased to be a nomad, ownership of real estate has been the key to economic power. Empires have waxed and waned as nations have fought for control over other lands. The aim has always been the same: if you can control a community's use of land, you control the community. Arguably this notion no longer has the same validity, as power becomes more about the transfer of intelligence and information. The Conference will attempt to offer guidance on the underlying trends affecting the role of property, drawing on the experience in both North America and Europe.
